Geek looking for love Ive been sitting here for twenty minutes trying to figure out how to write this without sounding generic, and Ive been failing amazingly at it. I keep writing and rewriting, and I still cant seem to put the right words together. Other people here seem to know exactly what they want. Some at least have an idea. Some write small novels. Others still are satisfied putting just the basics. And the rest, well, theyre in the flipping wrong category anyway.
Im looking for the right person. Thats all Im looking for.
I want someone who I can laugh with, talk about nothing for hours with. I want someone who can understand me for who I am, and who I strive to be. I want someone who I have that connection that need not be spoken. I want someone who I can listen to, someone who can confide in me, just as I hope to be able to confide in them. Im a romantic at heart, and, thing is, Im the sort of person that thinks with his heart a lot of the time.
See how I had that issue with sounding generic, cheesy? That sounded like a card or something, even though it was true.
The simple facts? Im in school full time, third shift mostly. I like my job, even with its ups and downs. I drive, own my own vehicle, dont live with my parents. Shorter hair, hazel eyes, glasses, fit. Working on getting inkd. Im the sort that believes that chivalry is not dead, just needs to be modernized. (Made sense, I swear.). Also, here is the kicker I live in Sioux Falls, SD. Its a 3 hour drive; however, if things became serious I would make the drive weekly.
Im a gamer. Im a geek. Super geek. Not basement-dwelling geek. Just. Geek. I can be a goofball at times. (Favorite shows? Supernatural, Doctor Who, Firefly more. Favorite Games? Mass Effect, Skyrim, and so many more.) Yeah, I play Dungeons and Dragons, but I dont dress in chain mail and throw bean bags at people yelling out spells. Though now that I type that out, it sounds sort of random and fun. All around geek/nerd here.
What Im looking for is to meet someone, hopefully have it turn into something more. Im not one for friends with benefits, nor casual encounters. I was just looking for some opinions on trust and marital expectations. When I speak of trust I refer to "counting on" a spouse to do what they say they are going to do. Is it wrong to expect this? I don't think it is. To me common courtesy should kick in if plans change and communication should be a no brainer. Also, my expectations of marriage come down to simple priorities. I say that #1 is the individuals in the relationship, if present, #2 the household and it's wellbeing, including finances (incl job), health, family functionality and etc. #3 The future wellbeing of #1 and #2. #4 would be that of family outside of the marriage, followed by friends.
